Hi, I am Kamran.

I am an Academic Developer at London South Bank University, focused on how universities teach and how technology supports learning. My career started with engineering before moving into teaching, and eventually into academic development.

Outside my day job I like building websites, apps, and tools. I enjoy working on ideas and bringing them to life.

History

1990s Born. Tiny hands, couldn't type.
2000 Got my first Windows 98 computer.
2000s Tinkering with computers and the internet.
2008 BEng Civil Engineering (2012).
2010 Started building on the web.
2012 Professional Engineer.
2013 MS Structural Engineering (2016).
2016 University Lecturer.
2019 Adventures across mountains.
2022 Got married. More dinners, fewer mountains.
2023 Academic Developer.
Today Focused on Education, technology, and the internet.

Focus

Over time I have settled on three areas that define most of what I do.

Education

First teaching, now supporting teaching and learning. I work at the intersection of pedagogy, digital learning, and EdTech.

Technology

I like building things on the web and have been doing it since 2010 with varying levels of success. Something I keep coming back to.

Internet

I keep tabs on how people search and access information, and the trends that change how people discover things online.
